In short

No cookies, no Google Analytics, no third-party analytics. Something is stored in your browser only when you close or answer the survey or the newsletter note.
IP addresses are not stored; nothing is stored in your browser for statistics.
Fonts are served from our own server – no Google Fonts.
Raw statistics are deleted after 14 months.

Hosting

Hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany, under a data processing agreement. The host processes technically necessary log data (IP address, time, page, user agent) to run the site securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Statistics via flashferry.com

Visitor statistics for this site are run by our sister site flashferry.com (same controller) with a self-hosted, cookieless system. Pages of one visit are linked by a code the server derives from IP address and browser with a secret that changes daily, so you are not recognised on later days. We record pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth, load time, click positions (no form input), device type, browser, operating system, screen size, language, referring page and campaign tags. For a rough location (country/region) the IP address is sent to ip-api.com at the time of the visit (processing outside the EU possible); only the result is stored. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Booking links

Booking links lead to Direct Ferries and contain a partner ID. The click passes briefly through flashferry.com and is counted (time, page, link target, device type) before you go to the provider, whose privacy policy then applies.

Price search and booking window

The details you enter in the price search (direction, dates, number and ages of travellers, vehicle) stay in your browser. Only when you tap “Show prices” does your browser send them directly to Direct Ferries (Direct Ferries Ltd., United Kingdom) so the matching sailings can be shown; Direct Ferries’ privacy policy applies from then on. We do not store these details. Our statistics only count that a search was sent, with direction and one-way or return – no dates, passengers or vehicle.

Places to stay (Stay22)

On the port pages we link to accommodation near the terminal. The link leads to Stay22 (Stay22 Technologies Inc., Montréal, Canada), which forwards you with a partner ID to providers such as Booking.com. Nothing from Stay22 is loaded before you click.

Language

If you open the English home page and your browser is set to German, French or Dutch, the server sends you once to that language version, based on the language setting your browser transmits. Nothing is stored and no cookie is set.

Short survey

From time to time a voluntary short survey appears at the bottom right, provided by flashferry.com (same controller). We store your answers, language, page, device type and visit code – no name, email or IP address. Only after you answer or close it does your browser remember in local storage that it is done (no identifier). Answers are deleted after 14 months.

If you subscribe on this site, the sign-up runs through flashferry.com (same controller, shared list, double opt-in). What we store, for how long and how to unsubscribe is described in the FlashFerry privacy policy, newsletter section. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Images and fonts

All images and fonts are served from our own server. Nothing is loaded from Google Fonts, image services or social networks.

Your rights

You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR) and may complain to a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). Last updated: 22 October 2026.
